Who We Are and What We Do
Get to Know Us
Our mission is to offer hope and encouragement to newly widowed men and women in Mobile, Baldwin & Escambia counties. We work with individuals of all ages without regard to race or religion as they journey into a renewed life of purpose and fulfillment.
The death of a spouse is one of the most stressful and traumatic experiences a person can endure. The volunteers at WPS are here to help you navigate through all of the experiences and difficult decisions this new life entails. We are not trained professionals but we are here to listen and offer support as each of us has faced the same difficult choices in our own bereavement journey.
We are a 501(c)3 organization that relies on the generosity of our members, local agencies, businesses and churches. There is only one major fundraiser a year and we have nothing to sell nor do we have any dues.
WPS Support Groups
Healing comes from telling your story. This is a place for sharing information and inspiration. A place where you can find people who COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND what you are experiencing. No, you are NOT crazy! Yes, there really is such a thing as a Widow/Widower's Brain Fog. Everyone has something in common - the loss of a spouse and the desire to learning how to adjust to life as a single person.
When you are ready, visit one of our Grief Support Groups!

The "Patriotic Reunion Pot Luck Dinner" is a fun summer tradition where we don our red, white & blue, express our appreciation and loyalty to those who have shaped and protected our country all the while sharing treasured family dishes with friends.
